I went for a spirometry today so I was wondering if anyone can make head or tail of these readings?
This is before Ventolin.

Sorry I have no idea. I have never had a print out.
have you asked your GP, Asthma nurse or consultant or even the person who conducted the spirimetry ? They always walk it through with me if I ask .
I can only see what you can see Andy. All of your results are above your predicted except pef which is slightly below, but within range.
Hi Andy, You probably need the spirometry done a few times to check what your normal is. For instance it took years for the doctors to realise that my "normal" is far higher than predicted. Predicted for me is almost time to go to hospital. Luckily all my doc's now know this, and since discovery my treatment has been so much better.
The curve on the graph is also important because it can show obstruction in the lungs. You need to talk to your doctor or nurse about this, and also ask to compare before and after venotlin.
Cheers
R
You are well above predicted on the measurements which is great (and even your small airways look good which is rare with asthmatics!) I agree with risabel that you probably need to have a few tests to develop a base of knowledge about what your norm is-
