Trimbow dry powder Nexthaler

Hi what are people's thoughts on Trimbow dry power nexthaler. I have been using sodium cromiglicate Intel 5mg old steroid free inhaler. But now sods law this has been discontinued. So now both non steroid inhalers are finished. I see the max is 2 puffs twice a day what do people do when unwell. I am under Royal Papworth in Cambridge. So I know they can change dose if need. But just interested in how others find it.

My consultant wanted me on Trimbow but I declined as it contains a long acting beta agonist (LAMA), as well as a steroid and long acting bronchodilator. Because the inhaler contains a LAMA, you won't be able to increase the doseage during a flare up. However, if you have a duo combination inhaler (LABA) separate to a LAMA Inhaler, then you can increase the LABA inhaler while keeping to the set dose of the LAMA Inhaler. Depends on how your asthma behaves and your consultant should have explained why they thought a triple inhaler was more suitable for your asthma.

There were other reasons, specific to my health, that made me stick to two separate inhalers. I think that some doctors believe that patients are more likely to stick to taking their inhaler regularly if they only have to take one inhaler. My consultant suggested it would be convenient for me. After years of taking my inhalers as prescribed, it's not something I find inconvenient.
