Drs appointments

I saw my Gp over a month ago f2f and she wanted to see me again this month. Been fighting and getting stressed out with receptionists trying to get the appointment made. After going backward and forwards via the gp finally got after she was of last week of holidays as she got a young one.

Supposed to be back this week she only works part-time and should've seen this afternoon. Got woken up after a bad night at 8am from the surgery to say they have to cancel my appointment as my gp I see has come down.with covid for the second time and this is second time they had to cancel my appointment because covid.

Was going to put me with another female Dr but she's gone of sick and I don't trust male drs and also they tend to mumble with having a hearing problems I can't hear them or understand especially if got foriegn accent even worse.

Now have to wait until next week to see if she's back the said that they keep me informed but I dong believe them.

I was getting extra support from welfare co-ordinator but she left and gone to another surgery because of all the red tape.

Left me with one of her colleagues but I can't get hold of her not answering the phone.

So I'm well and truly fed up to put it midly and stressed out with chronic pain I got with arthritis which isn't helping my asthma.

Had to go for a blood test which they forgot to do when did the rest. The nurse or Hca I saw was concerned about me and sent a message for the dr to ring me which never got and if I leave a message for the dr they never pass them .

Sorry about my moan but needed to get of my chest.

Another thing why they are not seeing patients or its hard to get one at my surgery is because they to busy with doing covid vaccinations the money they get from that won't be passed on yo the patients it will go in their own pockets.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you’re having a difficult time.

To quote the book- you seem to be experiencing a series of unfortunate events.

My surgery has initial appointments by phone, then decide if a face to face appointment is needed.

On the whole this works well for me.

But it doesn’t always go smoothly.

When things go wrong it can sometimes affect the same people. Unfortunately on this occasion that’s you…..

I do hear that GP’s are overwhelmed due to the increase in their demand- probably loads of their patients would never normally need to see them before covid?

However, it might be worth considering speaking to another GP in the practice if your own GP is unwell. It might help.

It sounds like you’re affected, I am guessing, from a previous experience? That’s difficult.

Take care,

You need an advocate - someone who can speak for you and come with you to appointments, or even make them for you if you're not up to it that day. If you don't have a relative or friend who can do this, you should speak to social services. If they don't have anyone, they should know of a voluntary organisation that could help. People like to help, so don't be afraid to ask.

Found out yesterday when I had an appointment with my usual Gp and I found out the person I was supposed to been left with when the other person now she has left but been told that another person will be starting in next few weeks who will giving me a call. The reason I try and stick with same Dr is 2019 I had year of bad chest infections and other gps kept on telling see the asthma nurse when I saw them we can't do.nithing until you've seen hje consultant.

This kept going on nearly whole until I ended up being admitted by ambulance with pneumonia and another gp said I'll look after until the end of the year but she turned around saying you'll have to see someone else as I've got to much on sorting the paper work out as she was the one who decided to join 4 surgery into one.

And The QCC rated the inadequate need a lot of improving the surgery I was with was very good until the other joined and qcc was going to shut it down if no improvement so york firm took over.

But service still not yo good but they're are been improving the building by putting more tools in

But still have to jump through hoops trying to get past the Rottweilers (receptionists) even the dr told them twice to book me in for a f2f so that's why I try and keep to same on who very good and kind and spends a bit more time with you especially if you're upset.

I understand why you must be frustrated and I would be to. However it does seem that as already suggested you had a series of unfortunate events over this appointment. The fact you ARE able to get face to face appointments is positive when many of us are unable to achieve that. Doctors are as entitled as anyone to have holidays and the fact that she then became unwell is simply unfortunate.

Hopefully your appointment can be rearranged with her or another doctor. I don’t think ALL the male doctors at your surgery will mumble so it seems you have a choice as to either wait for preferred doctor. Which could be a while if she’s off sick or see a different doctor.
