COVID v Asthma

Just after some advice.

I am currently at home self-isolating with COVID. I know its proberly different for everyone but from my own symptons this feels more like an allergic reaction than what people describe as a cold.

Normally, I would reach for an antihistime but given that, my body is fighting a virus I am scared to do so, and was wondering if its best to ride it out.

At the moment my Oxygen Satuaration is fine dipping up and down but I mangering to keep it above 90 with my inhalers.

The best person to discuss medications with is your pharmacist. Hopefully you can get hold of them today….

Just been rereading your post. Am concerned about your oxygen sats are low. Whilst for long term oxygen therapy the magic number is 88, being just above 90 is very low. I think you should contact 111 to discuss with them. It may be deemed necessary to send a paramedic out to you to check sats. Please look after yourself.

Hi, I had covid in august and was asked to join a trial for a new service and app where I had to check oxygen peak flow and temperature 3times a day for 3 weeks, my oxygen was regularly at about 92 so the kept phoning to make sure I was ok, now back up to about 95/96. So low oxygen is I think a product of covid and will rise after

Yes I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest to have reduced oxygen sats with Covid. I raised it as a concern because we don’t know if PadGill is being regularly checked on as to whether or not they are ok. Certainly when I have been ill with other chest infections, if my sats were that low I would have been sent to A&E. As it was my gp (again) was keeping an extremely close eye on me with appointments every 2-3 days! Plus I had nebuliser at home and under their instruction was using it 4X a day.

Resting oxygen levels have increased to 94/95They seem to dip when, I exert myself.

At the moment I am able to bring my oxygen levels back up with rest and inhalers.
