Will you be putting up your Christmas tree this week? Lots of us like to decorate our homes at this time of year, but if your asthma is triggered by dust or mould, it’s worth taking extra care. 🎄 Real Christmas trees carry mould spores, which increase in warm centrally heated homes. You might want to keep your tree in a cooler part of the house, so spores don’t build up. If you prefer an artificial tree, remember that trees and boxes of decorations can gather dust in storage. If dust is a trigger for your asthma, you could ask someone to wipe them with a damp cloth first. Learn more about staying well with your asthma this Christmas here 👉 asthma.org.uk/advice/living...

This time of year is one of my triggers. Scented everything, candles, shops and presents. Never get through December without an exacerbation.

Hi Oldandgray, Oh no!, that shouldn't be happening! Why not give us a ring on the helpline to discuss 0300 2225800 M-F 0915-445 , I am sure we could make some helpful suggestions 👍☺️

I’ve abandoned any sort of tree or decorations & gone for lots of lights this year, especially in dark corners. They’re so pretty, & easy to flick a duster over

Darn! I was hoping to get a tree up this year! I’m having a lot of issues due to aerosol air fresheners at work so my house now has to be scent free in order to minimise my issues so I was looking forward to the tree. Totally didn’t think about the dust part and I live alone so have nobody to deal with it 😭😭
