I currently take Flutiform inhaler for my asthma/copd?. I have had real problems over the last few years with a number of different steroid inhalers, including Flutiform, in that I get choked up with phlegm which causes me to cough a lot, cough up phlegm and affects my vocal cords. Someone recently posted ‘remember to drink plenty of water as it helps to thin the phlegm and wash it down to your stomach.’ It occurred to me to drink a cupful immediately after taking the inhaler following gargling and then rinsing my nasal passages with salt water - my usual routine. I have done so for a few weeks and have had a marked improvement - no choking, voice issues or coughing and I feel much better. I think that drinking a cupful of water in this way washes the remnant of the steroid etc away from my throat so it is effectively stopped from causing the annoying symptoms I’ve had to put up with for so long. I think the manufacturers could put the instruction on their information sheets - drink a cupful of water immediately after using the inhaler and gargling.
