The COVID jab

I have cough variant asthma and the first six months of the year are usually the best for me.

I had my first Astra Zeneca jab in January and for the four weeks plus after that I felt great. My lungs felt free of pressure and I wasn’t coughing at all.

I had my second jab in early April and again a sharp reduction in the amount of coughing I usually do.

Coincidence, the fact that I haven’t really been out as listed as CEV since March last you. (Although last year I had three asthma attacks.)

I don’t know and it’s just my observation but since the two jabs my lungs have felt a lot happier!

Its a good thing for your lungs feel better. I think that's wonderful news to share. There's been mountains of negatively around this last year so good to hear a positive story. Best wishes to you.

My lungs felt AMAZING after the first. I haven’t had the second due to other side effects but I did wonder if the second would give the same benefit. Long may it continue for you!

That's so good to hear! Other than for the first few days immediately after the first jab, I've barely used my inhaler since either dose. I'm also not on antihistamines yet this year, even though I'd usually need to start them around March/April. I mentioned this as a curious coincidence to my asthma nurse during my review and she said it wouldn't have anything to do with the jab. She may be right, but I'm still intrigued to see what happens longer term and whether research uncovers any positive connections/trends in time!

Yes it will be interesting to see. Whilst there is absolutely no reason why the COVID jab should make a difference to anyone’s lungs there are people who like me seem to have freed lungs
