Hi

Does anyone know if there must be a gap between having The covid vaccine and taking my Fasenra injection.

My Fasenra injection is due soon and could be called in any day soon for the vaccine.

I will be calling the severe asthma nurse. But just thought I’d ask

Thank you

Hi

I’m lucky in that my benra was on the 9th and vaccine was yesterday. I made sure to use the other arm but that’s all. In the past when I’ve queried about flu jab timings they’ve basically said ‘best ifyou can have a gap, but don’t worry if you can’t, try and have on opposite arm to jab’

Hopefully your nurse will get back to you and 🤞🏻🤞🏻 it’ll be the same rules as I was given regarding flu jab!

Please let us know what they say, just in case someone else has a similar question!

Hi 😊 I would definitely wait a week or 2 after your Injection. It's not good when you got your Injection as your immune system is weaker after and getting the vaccine so shortly after....I would not recommend it.But have a chat with your GP to make them aware that you have your Injection on this date that they can arrange that you get vaccinated a bit later. Stay safe and warm!! 🍀🍀🍀

When you go for the vaccine the doctor asks if you’ve had any other vaccines in the past 2 weeks , then will advise . Good luck Marilyn

Yes you cannot have it within seven days of each other I just had the vaccine today and Brompton had to move my Fasenra from the 4th Feb to the 9th.

Speak with the nurse. My understanding, there is suppose to be a 7 day gap between COVID and any other vaccination.

Agree queenofjunk should speak to her specialist team about it - this injection isn't another vaccination though, so may have different rules (or maybe not given post above!)
