asymptomatic Covid for asthmatics?
It’s one of my biggest fears! I’m hoping when I start my new job I’ll be given a supply of the self administered tests which will be a massive reassurance. The last year I’ve constantly felt dodgy because my asthma has been unstable and that makes me so worried that I wouldn’t know if I was mildly effected by covid or is it my body just being itself.
Respiratory nurses from my hospital have said at various points since March that they were not and still are not seeing their respiratory patients coming in with covid any more than non-resp patients - and actually it's much less. Where they have come in it's been covid that's been the issue NOT their asthma or COPD. I suspect that, for most asthmatics, if they had covid asymptomatically then they may not even have asthma issues but, if they do, that it's likely to be no worse than a normal flare up requiring whatever would normally happen for them, eg increased preventer or take steroids etc. Surely if it was more than that then they'd end up needing more interventions and it would be overtly linked to covid - eg if in hospital they'd test and with a positive result it would be put down to covid if that makes sense.
