A couple of days ago I realised my airways were still twitchy after I reacted when my husband ate food he had just heated in the microwave. I guess it was the cheese melt as it has lots of fat. It seemed ridiculous, for goodness sake, react on something heated in the microwave! Anyway, today being a normal day I did contact the surgery and spoke to my GP. She prescribed a course of prednisolone. Also she told me I had been due for some spirometry in the hospital. That was the first I heard about it, as it would have got lost as Covid kicked in just then. So thank you all who put me on the right track.........though I am not looking forward to pred head!

Ah well done (sorry if that sounds patronising!) Glad you phoned, spoke to your GP and have a plan. And a surprise treat of Spiro at some point 😅
There are times I am very happy to be ‘patronised’. I have a history of downplaying, delaying, blaming myself for issues re asthma etc, etc, and at such times I do need people to state what may be totally obvious to others. I was once read the riot act by a friend who is a doctor. This was 4-5 years ago, and I remain grateful to this day! I needed it!! That said, I did not feel patronised. Yes, spirometry......I have had it done before, both with asthma nurses, and in hospital. Oh, what fun! I have no idea if they have anything more up their sleeves. But just now I would prefer not to go there.
