Anyone have a changing cough with their asthma? At times It’s literally like someone has a feather duster and is tickling my throat and chest. And it feels very dry. Then at other moments I’m coughing up mucus and sometimes mucus plug (gross)
Sometimes I don’t know which I object to more, the breathlessness, the wheezing, or the cough. Doctor has just given me a nasal spray as I get stuffy nose at night. Just wish there was a magic pill to take it away. 😂
It could be that your sinuses aren't as clear as they could be and this can lead to sleeping with your mouth open, wheneverI get this I get the same symptoms as you describe. Post nasal drip is an irritant to the throat and upper respiratory tract, caused by sinuses producing mucus. That's probably why your doctor has prescribed the nasal spray, which will take a few days to kick in fully. If it doesn't start to clear your sinuses after 5 days then definitely go back to your doctor. If it does help, make sure you continue to take it until you're free of mucus for a while - you don't want it to rebound. Gargling after you brush your teeth may help in the meantime. And I also keep VitC & Zinc lozenges on hand, just in case it's a virus. Both helpful for dry and sore throats.

But definitely seek further treatment if your symptoms persist as it could lead to a bacterial infection. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Yes. I have been referred to a respiratory physiotherapist who gave me breathing exercises and also recommended a nasal rinse to clear sinuses as they can help with reducing post nasal drip and consequently help with the dreaded cough. I have bought one from Amazon. There’s a variety on there and they aren’t expensive. I’ve also found keeping the air warm and moist in the house helps. I have a couple of pans of water dotted about and a little humidity measure which again was not expensive off Amazon. I find if I keep the humidity above 40% preferably above 45% I notice the difference and my skin also does!
