Apologies in advance for those who are suffering the many accusing looks and glances every time you cough these days. But this floated to the surface of my brain a few days ago and I do hope that it raises a smile. The eternal persistence of Bob Fleming to try and get through his TV spot 'Country Matters'. I have been very unwell with uncontrolled asthma since November. I have just made appointment with opticians and advised that I will cough. They tried to put me off coming!! 😔

I'm really sorry to hear that Bevvy - sometimes members of the Health Profession, need to be 'educated' by their customers, rather than them being in denial of the existence of CVA. The NHS now lists 'coughing' as one of the their 4 most common symptoms of asthma. If the optician won't listen, send them the NHS Link, if the doesn't work maybe discuss it with your GP/Practice Nurse and see if they will intervene on your behalf. I do despair that in the health profession we have some who will still bury their heads in the sand....

So true. Some dark-humour from another post. Those of us with CVA can have a card made saying "I have Asthma, not Covid. My cough will kill me before it kills you. Please be kind."

😅😅😅 I now feel I need to have a good cough for this poor man and a puff of my inhaler. Empathy coughing! I wonder if that's just asthmatics that react that way, like shared yawning?

Yes, but yawning is one of the weird triggers for my CVA. 😅
