Inhalers - Seretide versus Airflusal

I have been taking Seretide Evohaler 250 for years but my GP has now moved me to Airflusal. I know Airflusal has the same ingredients but i suffer from anxiety and I'm frightened to go on to the new inhaler in case it doesn't work the same. I have been buy Seretide but it's expensive. The Accuhaler is cheaper but I don't know if I should get the same strength and take the same dosage.

Has anyone else tried Airflusal or made this switch? How have you got on? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

I understand your anxiety matter when you feel that a medicament doesn't seem to work. I have been through all the same. Actually, when I started my asthma treatment I began to cough more often than I used to; not only that, I felt I still struggled when sleeping —which basically was the reason that moved to see my GP.

I would take what the doctor said, and if any matter arises go and communicate it to him/her. Yes, basically all medicaments carry pretty much the same "ingredients", but since the composition of the air "bugs" change quite often that's why we have to swap inhalers every now and then. I have been taking Accuhaler, Seretide, and many more. Although I haven't taken Airflusal I would try it, you have nothing to lose, I think.

I would like to know how did it go—

Regards

Thank you for your reply. I bit the bullet and started the Airflusal this morning. It feel different from the Seretide when you spray it in but I think you get that with any change of inhaler. there is a counter on it but the patient info says that the counter changes every 5 to 7 puffs which seems odd rather than going down 1 with each puff. i will let you know how it goes...
