So I’ve started to get wheezy over the last couple of days with a bit of a productive cough, I had this about 3 months ago and when I rang the doctors I was put on what I can only describe as covid watch. I was given antibiotics and a long dose of steroids and was fine after about five days. I know that it’s just my asthma possibly a bit of a chest infection but if I ring the doctor I will be back on the daily phone calls and texts which I can’t face, I’m feeling very depressed and I’m Struggling to get back on track.

Wheezy chest
It does sound like asthma to me - increased mucous/productivity is very normal in asthma when it flares up (even green doesn't always mean a bacterial infection, though of course sometimes it does) and actually isn't classic of covid as that's a dry/non-productive cough so, in my opinion, to assume covid is wrong of the doctor unless of course someone has been knowingly exposed to it or something.
However, it may be that you need the steroids for the asthma flare and so not addressing it would not be sensible (though I also understand the "can't face it" side of things).
If you speak to a GP, would saying (repeatedly!) that it feels like previous asthma flares due to the wheeze (and anything else) and, if they mention it, that you have had no other covid symptoms? Hopefully they won't now choose to do daily calls (although while annoying at least they cared before) as things have moved on and they're more used to dealing with the situation.
Please don't ignore it though - that's when it'll get worse and then you'll need daily support (or hospital!) when, at the moment, a simple course if steroids or similar would suffice.
