Hi Sarah Jane

A friend had Covid in March and she is asthmatic. She was prescribed steroids, she normally only takes ventolin, and that comfortably got her through.

She was antibody tested for Covid a couple of weeks ago and this showed she had definitely had it.

Hi sarahjane12,

I had Covid about 8 weeks ago and managed really well with the usual regime - increased inhalers & course of steroids but also I used a nebuliser with saline (just the .9% one) twice a day that really seemed to help with the breathlessness - definite relief for a couple of hours after it. My asthma didn’t get bad & my peak flow stayed within 80% of normal throughout...not what I expected at all but I’ve heard the same from a few people with asthma who’ve also had it.

Unfortunately (& apparently not uncommon for asthmatics - or anyone - after Covid) I then managed to get a v persistent chest infection that lasted 5 weeks & took 4 courses of antibiotics to resolve, and now my ribs (3 got cracked last yr in a bad asthma attack) are now really sore again - X-ray just showed one is cracked again...so not the best current situation though I’m finally over the chest infection and on the mend so not too bad!

But for the covid symptoms alone, I did manage fine as described!
