Supermarket saying not on list?
I did the online application saying I had no one to shop for me. I heard nothing so I did it again. Within a couple of days I started to get messages from supermarkets, some of whom I had never shopped with.
Just prior to that I signed into my Iceland account. ( I had used them one Christmas when I couldn’t get a slot with Morrison’s.) They simple asked if I had received a letter. When I tapped yes it immediately offered me slots over the next 3 days.
Did you say you had no help re shopping?
I spoke to my aunt yesterday and she said she had trouble registering on the gov.uk website. I'm going to try today to see if I can. No doubt it's not as robust as it needs to be given the numbers registering. Keep trying - I used to work in a government department and I know the IT systems are not perfect when they're over loaded.
It took a couple of weeks after registering on gov.uk to receive notice from the supermarkets. The system is overloaded. Have you tried Iceland? They were putting state pensioners and vulnerable first a while ago. x Anita
I recently registered my wife as she's started chemo, and heard nothing yet. Then discovered Morrison food parcels, which arrived next day, and Aldi have just started, limiting to one per week - mine hasn't arrived yet, but worth a try.
Sainsbury's is just FULL for online shopping. They say they will start to register people asap, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
