Advice please

Hi I’ve recently been in contact with my doctor but I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had any issues where they’ve struggled with their asthma after simply being stood up for a few minutes; this is new for me - I’ve had issues with stairs and walking in the past but not when just standing and wondered if anyone else experienced anything similar?

Hello 😉 I get this when I do not exercise for a while, then I start to feel out of breath just to stand up. Special in this situation like now, not to go outside so much, special when the weather getting better. Feel quite depressed not to go out that much, not great. But walk around a bit or do some Yoga if you can to control your breathing. It should pass again. Well it does in my case. Keep warm, well and safe!! 🌹

If my breathing takes a turn for the worst then yes, I literally have to sit where I stand and wait until I’m able to get up and move. It’s been around for so long now that I just go with the flow, if I need to sit on the floor then that’s exactly what happens. Thankfully it’s not all the time, but every so often it gets me. I know my asthma is uncontrollable, but maybe yours is and it’s best to get yourself checked out.

Why did you ask asthma or standing?

You didn't specify what was being addressed by your suggested treatment, asthma or the breathing problems on standing (which may not be asthma).

If you think I was talking about standing we are all in trouble

Again, while this is well-meaning advice, please beware about recommending supplements if you're not qualified and doing a full health history first (medications, conditions). You really don't want to spark a reaction in anyone right now!

Any deterioration in your symptoms should be addressed with your asthma nurse or doctor, especially if symptoms continue for more than a few days. They will determine whether or not it is asthma related or if something else is happening.

Neither. Immune system yes.

If your immune system is good you will cope with anything nature throws at you

Clearly the original post is asking about a recent and sudden onset of symptoms that require examination of a qualified doctor. Lifestyle changes can be tackled once they know what is happening and they've received appropriate treatment.

I applaud a healthy lifestyle but I wouldn't be putting all my eggs into one basket.
