I am suffering from an Asthma flare up at the moment. It is not bad to warrant a hospital visit but still bad enough to have me coughing all the time. I used to take Prednisone for 3/5 days and then would feel better but lately every time I take it my breathing gets much much worse and I cant sleep at all from the cough and even end up vomiting a few times. Has anybody suffered from those symptoms before? What other options are there if Pred cant help? Also, I believe recently I used Prednisolone instead of the Prednisone I used to take before. I understand they are similar but could this be the cause?

Prednisone is converted to prednisolone in the body. Have you thought that you might be developing a chest infection? Do you have any other symptoms? Otherwise there may be something irritating your lungs. Allergies? Mould? What maybe different that could cause this exacerbation?
Mmm. You need to discuss all this with your GP. Prednisolone is a very strong medication and you should only take it if you're sure you understand it well. If it isn't working as it should, there must be a reason for it.
