What time of day is your asthma at its worst?

Personally for me it's right when when I wake up in the mornings. My chest is tight, I'm short of breath and I produce a disgusting amount of mucus, honestly it's miserable. But I'm interested to know how everyone else is affected.

Great to hear that you are well controlled 😀

It's not but I can't have major issues with it to the point I can not handle it all on my own. I just learnt how to make it down in hot weather

Thank you

Good luck. Try anything with caffeine in it as it is a natural drug's to help with breathing. But I would recommend talking to a doctor as there might be something wrong

During the night and first thing in a morning for me! Cannot remember the last time I had a decent nights sleep!

Sleep! What’s that 😂 I haven't slept since starting with asthma. Just learned to cope 🤦🏽‍♀️

0200-0400 is my witching hour, but usually get bad about 2200-0000 and 0600-0800 pre meds. My best score now is usually about 30 mins post morning meds, or around 1400. I know I’m having a good day if I don’t wake up at night 😅

I think my worst times pretty much mirror Emma’s. I often wake myself up coughing around 3-4 am or 6-7 in the morning. I think it’s quite common for asthma to be worse late at night and early in the morning,

Basically asthma 101 is worse at night/pre morning meds 😅

My worst times are nights, when my asthna is bad (high grass pollen season) and can only sleep for 1- 2 hours at a time propped up. Then wake very tight and breathless. Long nights!

Hi Like so many I’m worse at night. I cannot lay flat, I wake up between 2-3am take some salbutamol I can usually get back to sleep then wake up 6-7 (normal time) wheezy and low PF usually takes about an hour to clear taking seretide 500 and more Salbutamol. If I don’t wake up in the night, rare but does happen, I’m really bad in morning and struggle most of the morning.

Mornings are not great for me. Same issues as littlemonster, tight chest, disgusting brown muscus, restrictive breathing....

What time of day so you take your inhaler. Maybe take it an hour before bed. I don't cough up much mucous but if I do it's generally during the day.

When my asthma is acting up I also wake up around 2 or 3 am. It’s because that’s the time when your cortisol (which mediates inflammation) is lowest.

When I wake up in the morning my lungs often feel sore and when I take a deep breath I can feel how tight they are in the very bottom of my lungs.

I'm worse late in the evenings especially after a large meal. l cough up more mucous in the morning if l have had alcohol the night before. Dehydration makes my asthma worse plus the toxic effect of too much alcohol.

If my asthma is flaring up (like it is now) mornings to early afternoon is definitly worse, and then i start to feel better by evening time. I guess I'm really lucky that it doesn't interrupt my sleep (touch wood!) . I heard there's a scientific explanation for being worse in the am involving some hormone I think? I'm also worse around that time of the month so there's definitly a hormone connection there 🤣
