Asthma help - is this asthma?

Ok so background -

Diagnosed asthmatic as a young child. Took inhalers daily until 10ish?

Seemed to be fine through teen years. Flared back up at uni (18-21) then seemed to settle again. Now at 27 I feel breathless maybe 5-6 times a month.

But after reading other people's stories online I'm now questioning whether it's asthma I have or something else?

Any help would be appreciated.

Symptoms -

Breathlessness

Light headed

Fatigue

Anxiety

Foggy head

Burping (doesn't relieve symptoms)

Strange feeling in chest.- heaviness

Frequently need to clear throat/non productive cough throughout day

Palpitations occasionally

Fast resting heartrate - has been a concern in hospital during both pregnancies

Usually clears up after several hours. Doesn't last all day.

Have noticed some association between symptoms and period.

No wheezing ever. No 'breathing through a straw' feelings. No issues talking.

No triggers that I can pinpoint - it flares up seemingly randomly.

Actually possibly weather trigger? Seem to struggle more on heavy overcast days/thick air. Fine in cold, heat, wind generally.

Fine when walking. Never do heavy exercise.

Ventolin inhalers never provide relief. Tend to make me jittery.

Can't remember if steriod inhalers ever helped years ago

Used to take omeprazole - don't want to again. Can't remember if it helped breathlessness.

Get checked out by the doctors. I had the same symptoms as you are describing and I never had asthma before. I got asthma as an adult

Sounds exactly like silent reflux (LPR) if you join the GERD LPR group on facebook you will find many people with those exact symptoms.
