I have noticed my asthma has got slightly worse since I was harassed and because of the harassment I was getting stressed out the police has stopped that. I had a silent asthma attack. Is it possible to have a silent asthma attack

Yes it is & it's a lot more common than many people, doctors included, realise. I think somewhere or other there's a page (maybe AsthmaUK) & I know there have been threads on here about top asthma myths, & one of them is definitely 'you always wheeze'.

I'm glad you've sorted the harassment problem out & hope you keep feeling better.

I have heard of silent asthma attack's so has my doctor's but I have never experienced one before. I just wanted to know if it's possible to have one as there was a lot of confusion about them

The 'noise' of an asthma attack is just an indicator that your airways have become restricted & as air moves through it is making a noise. But it doesn't have to happen...it's good your GP recognises that as we see a fair number of people on here who have been told they don't have asthma because they aren't wheezing.

I was told that I might have asthma because I had bad hayfever. I was only showing a slight change in my voice nothing in my chest, but treated me for asthma just in case. I only found out that I had asthma at hospital as I wasn't able to catch my breath back and that is where I got told I had asthma about 3 years ago. I just recently had a silent asthma attack and I wondered if that is possible

Yes it is possible to have silent asthma attacks. I usually don't make a lot of noise with mine. I have nearly died several times because of doctors in the emergency department not realising things were as bad as they were because I was able to speak and was not wheezing loudly. I usually tend to hiss as I breathe and when it's bad not even that. I guess maybe a certain amount of lung function is necessary to wheeze and I don't have that?
