I received the good news today that my son's DLA has been renewed for another 6 years at the same rate he was on before.
I had heard so many horror stories from people renewing and getting turned down because their children were apparently old enough to know their symptoms and administer medication themselves.
It is a relief as I have had to reduce my working hours to accommodate for his numerous admissions and appointments.
I just though that I would post, to give others hope and to prove that DLA can be awarded to someone with severe asthma and allergies.

Hello you have given me a small glimmer of hope,as my son is waiting now, just sent his PIP forms back,I to have heard and read so many horror stories and this has bug me off.Cam I ask is your so. Still a minor age as they call this, meaning under the age of 18,and did you go for the assessment?if you did go for assessment can you advise me on what kind of things they ask and did he have to do physical things. My son has severe brittle asthma and is 20,I’m just concerned they may say he’s old enough to do everything himself, which isn’t he case,as I still get up during the night to administer his meds and give him his nebulisers etc.Any help and guidance greatly appreciated
