should i go hospital?

For the past few days, I have been feeling my chest is becoming tight and feels like I have fluid in my lungs. Today, my dad noticed that my breathing was becoming heavier than before. I'm getting worried as I'm prone to getting chest infections or having severe Asthma attacks.

what should I do?

You need spirometry and possibly chest x-ray. These are usually available via pulmonologist especially as well as allergist in their offices. I assume you have one of the two specialists. If not, you need one.

You also need to rule out heart involvement, which can mimic asthma and vice versa. If your asthma doctor is concerned they will want you referred to a cardiologist. I know, I've been through it all. Peak flow (if you have one of those little blow tubes) can give you an idea of where you are, and it can sometimes help to point to whether the chest tightness is obviously asthma or might be heart related (if your peak flow is relatively normal).

I destabilize when I've been exposed to a virus and some allergens, like dogs. There has been a summer respiratory bug here the past couple of weeks. Is there a new food or pet in your environment?

These things always happen on the weekend, don't they!! Can you call a doctor who really knows you? I don't want to sound like I'm giving advice, but what if all you need is an extra dose of your maintenance drugs for a few days, or an antibiotic, or a course of Prednisone. You'd need to talk to your doctor.

Of course, if in doubt, don't mess with asthma, call paramedic and they can take out via ambulance to hospital, to be safe.
