I was just diagnosed with asthma. No family history so I'm very new to this. In 48 and had to be shown how to use an inhaler
I use salbutamol in my puffer several times at night to stop the wheezing and coughing but it only lasts about 1 to 2 hours and although it opens the airways I still cough. Is this normal
I don't use it through the day but i cough incessantly.
Hi I think you need to go back to the doctor and tell them about your cough as this isn't normal. It sounds like you might need a preventer inhaler which you take once/twice a day which opens up your airways for 12 hours or so.
Then your blue ventolin, which is a reliever, should only be used as and when you are extra breathless. x
