Revlar Ellipta

Hi everyone! Just want to let you know I am now on my second Revlar inhaler and it is working brilliantly for me. I have had no side effects from it so far. I feel good. My peak flow has even improved a little which is just great. My walking has also improved and if I can gear myself to walk every day I am sure my peak flow will continue to improve.

I hope the Revlar works as good for the people who are on it as it works for me and for people who are not on it - well maybe they should try it.😍😍

May I ask what Inhaler(s) you were on before?

I’m on Fostair and have noted that several Asthmatics on this Forum seem keen on Revlar Ellipta.

Also wondering (if anyone reading this knows) whether Revlar Ellipta is a more ‘pricey’ inhaler for the NHS to provide?

Hi Matman I was in Qvar and Foradil for 20 years also Atrovent.

I don't know how much it cos on the BUS but it cost €48 here so probably around £35.00.

It is so worth it though.

It actually took one month for me to feel the benefits because you only take it once a day whereas before i took my inhalers every 12 hours (sometimes more) and Atrovent also but now the once a day works and sometimes I need to take one or two puffs per day of Atrovent whereas before I could take 2 puffs three times per day.

My peak flow has been 100/130 for years so you can imagine my delight when it read 150. So for me hopefully onwards and upwards.

Morning Matman- relvar is once a day FLuticasone furoate ( what is in Avamys nasal spray) with a LABA- comes in two doses- some asthmatics respond very well to it. Fluticasone furoate is very potent ( high affinity to receptors) - full dose 184mcg is roughly equivalent to 2000mcg clenil or 800mcg of the steroid in fostair. The once a day dosing is appealing to some . Personally I tried it and exacerbated so went back to fostair but have heard of many good experiences with relvar and do wonder if I used this after a course of prednisolone whether i May have found it more successful.
