Just a thought

Good evening,

I was listening to a discussion about vaping on the radio today, which set me thinking. Could asthma meds be put into a vapour instead of sucking in a powder, it would be like a mini nebuliser?

Is this likely to be possible? You could even get flavours 😂.

Any thoughts?

There are already easy-halers/breath actuated MDIs so I presume it could work if they had smaller or more condensed canisters.

I wonder if flavours would impact the medication? I can't see it happening just because so many asthmatics have lung irritation from scents/perfumes/etc.

I would assume the biggest issues with it being like a nebuliser is that you'd need to have be able to control the flow of medication/air rather than by sucking (because in an asthma attack it can be hard to breathe in) and that nebulisers are usually oxygen driven so you'd need somewhere to store the oxygen too.

Still, maybe in the future. I think an inhaler type MDI option would be closer than a nebuliser.
