Hey, it can often be a sign of anxiety. I hope this helps

A month ago you were using quite a considerably high dosage of inhalants, you said:-

"I am to continue on Symbicort 200/6 two puffs six times a day.

I am to start blue inhaler ten puffs every hour. (question my blue inhaler is 200mcg so is that only 5 puffs)"

As you apparently have now stopped all these it is not surprising to now have a 'tight chest'!

What PMRPete said! I mean yes anxiety can cause tight chest too, but given the situation with your test and being told nonsense about no wheeze=no asthma, I'd also suspect not being on inhalers might be related and that actually the tight chest *is* from asthma.

Hope you get somewhere with your appt this afternoon.

i now have a doctors appointment on 7th december. any major problems ring medical centre or go hospital.

i was told to stop them - what are you suggesting ignore medical professionals??

Medical professionals are NOT infallible. One of your professionals MUST be wrong for you to have been given the inhalers in the first place!! IF you now don't need them after just a month.

i have been on inhalers since i was three not just one month.......

i just think the latest one is making a mistake but only time will tell.........

my tight chest could be anxiety from stopping meds as peak flow still happyish. i am monitoring my peak flow twice daily. if it drops below 200 i ring my medical centre or on weekend go to hospital.

I have definitely had "rebound" chest tightness (and mucous) after stopping preventer inhalers, and my asthma is very mild.

I went to an asthma specialist as my chest gets mega tight if i run a really short distance for a bus etc and I can hardly breathe, I was diagnosed with breathing disorder pattern and its unrelated to asthma hence why my inhalers never help when I am feeling like this. Some specialists laughed and said "how can you forget to breathe" but its a real thing. good luck

Gerrymoise it definitely is a real thing. I do have asthma but sometimes my symptoms are caused by the asthma and sometimes by the breathing pattern disorder. It is very hard to tell the difference when struggling to breathe. But when I saw a respiratory physio I realised it is about learning to identify the difference. It has helped.

my peak flow is remaining happy for asthma it is between 300 and 350 - however nose not so much for allergy rhinitis my nose is mucus glore. am continuing to monitor daily. maybe doctor is correct who knows only time will tell!
