i am suffering from asthma for the last 25 years. Now i am better with deep breathing exercises for 15 minutes- i have not had any breathing problem for over a year.

the exercise is to take a deep breath hold it for 20 seconds and exhale.

have to it twenty times

if you have a oximeter -u will see the oxygen level go up

cheers

Hi there,

Welcome to the Forum, breathing exercises can help with asthma and other Lung conditions, but for many of us, it is just a tool to help manage the condition.

I use breathing exercises, and have to do special ones every day for my Bronchiectstasis. But I still have to take a shed load of medicine every day.

I would encourage everyone to practice breathing exercises but not to stop any of your prescribed medication without a full consultation with your doctor.

Best

I have never heard of a 'cure' for asthma and I would also advise everyone to keep taking their meds and follow their doctors advice.

I do similar exercises, and whether it does any good I can't say, but I do them, my theory being maybe it is doing me good. It is certainly doing not harm, there again even on a good day I worry if I can't find a blue inhaler.
