Montelukast tablets question.

Hi

I take Montelukast and have been taking them for years. My asthma has dramatically improved since changing my diet and i am trying to cut back on the amount of meds if take. Every Time i miss a day taking Montelukast, i get pains in the middle of my back and just an overall uncomfortable feeling. Has anyone else ever experienced this.

I take Montekulast but haven’t experienced these symptoms. Very, very rarely I miss a tablet but get none of the symptoms you describe. Can I ask how you’ve changed your diet?

Hi I quit meat and dairy and went to a vegan diet, at the time for health and diet but as soon as I did my asthma improved dramatically and been better ever since.

That’s very interesting. I’ve read your previous posts to catch up on your journey. My diet is pretty standard but I have tried total avoidance of dairy in the past. Helped with reducing joint pains which were troubling me at the time but no asthma effect noted. Over the past three or four years, I have worked to avoid salicylates in my diet, which means avoidance of all processed food and cured meats, amongst other things. I do have occasional lapses but if I stick to the rules, my asthma is as good as it gets. Cold/flu viruses are my main problems these days, as well as the usual struggle to stay away from perfumes (include salicylates). I think we all have to become very sensitive to our triggers and try to plough our own more successful paths. Good to talk. Good luck with your meds’ reduction. Keep posting!

Giving up animal products is one of the best things I ever done.
