Some of you have already used the Asthma UK helpline to get advice and support about your asthma. We're looking to speak to a group of people in the 18-30 age bracket about how your asthma affects you and what help and support you access (GPs, friends, websites) to answer your questions to help us develop new service from the helpline for this age range.
If you're a parent of someone in that age range, please also get in touch, on the post, PM me or drop me a line at aghosh@asthma.org.uk
I am a school nurse I find that most asthma support is generally targeted for this age range and younger anyway, there is almost nothing for old farts like me especially people like myself with non allergic asthma
Thanks for your reply. That's interesting, as we don't think we have a lot of content for people who are 18 and below 30 and at Asthma UK we know we don't really reach this age group but their outcomes aren't as good so it's one of our priorities to try and support them.
In terms of non-allergic asthma, what kind of information/support are you looking for that isn't provided and I can feed back to our content team.
well at the moment alot of cons including an old one of mine, are very keen on the FEno test which only really tells a cons if you have allergic or non allergic asthma. That is what is says on auk website, perhaps this could also be mentioned on the forums to so people like me don't worry so much when the tests are normal.
I have done FEno once and will never do it again as my asthma is non allergic so no point.
