Third sub cut injection of "Mepo" this week. The nurse who gave it to me in the clinic said the vast majority of patients are doing incredibly well.... so excited and hopeful for the future!

Hi ..... fingers crossed for you ... I'm in discussion with my consultant about trying mepo ATM .... been on xolair 12 months but despite this I'm still pred dependent and can't seem to break my 25mg base line !!

Was it difficult To get the correct criteria ?

My consultant said it's hard to get the rite blood results whilst on prednisone !!

I had to have a letter from my GP with evidence of pred use-which was almost but not quite continuous. I also had to have a recent blood test to show raised eosinophils, which, as in your case, was difficult. I had a narrow window of about a week when I was off steroids, at the end of which I had the blood test. I felt I had to wait to feel quite poorly before I could have this test- and then immediately start on 40mg. I'm not sure how you would manage if on a reasonably high dose continuously but I'm sure there is a way round it. I'm on 5mg daily but hoping to stop. I gather will need another blood test soon to ensure those pesky eos are not around!

Good luck with your consultant and will be interested to see how you get on.

Hello all

Can I just ask which hospitals you are under that are able to prescribe Mepolizumab? My wife has been told by her consultant that Mepo is appropriate for her but they are unable to get authorisation to obtain it.
