a few weeks ago I joined weight watchers and have so far lost a stone in weight which is great however better still I have realised I have not used my blue inhaler for the last couple of weeks .. At all!! Usually I get through about four a month. Has anyone else found that diet has helped their asthma or could it just be coincidence? I'm really happy

Hi, well done for losing weight. Yes, asthma is known to improve with weight loss. Mine also improved significantly when i started taking vitamin d (high dose of 25ug from boots) at the recommendation of my consultant. 😊

Hi, yes I find that by following a healthy diet my Asthma is much better. I have cut out all sugar and processed foods and try to follow a low carb diet. The only bread I eat is burgen. I don't eat potatoes at all. I've lost two stone, which was gained by having continuous Asthma attacks with high prednisone levels etc.

well done on the weight loss. When talking to a doctor friend recently he said in my 13 years of training to become a consultant I have had a total of 4 hours on nutrition!!

When I lost weight I too did not need inhaler and have not used it in years. I went on the diet. Based on the largest study on human eating the China study is very relevant. there is a documentary forksoverknives.com/the-film/

I have also been starting to research the fasting diets. Again USSR doctors conducted huge study youtube.com/watch?v=sNdWCZW...

So when we fast the body goes into self protection mode and starts repairing itself; for example there is a huge increase in stem cells. Swiss have been unsuccessfully trailing injecting stem cells into the lungs. If your body can self generate and repair itself then that must be the best way!! but its tough, two weeks of complete fasting with only water and minerals!!
