I have had Asthma since the age of 40, I have it well controlled by following the advice from the Asthma Nurse in my local Doctors surgery. The medication that I use is Qvar inhaler 1 puff twice daily ad Serevent inhaler 2 puffs twice a day. I have not had a asthma problem for avery long time and asthma does not restrict my activities.

Similar to me, I used to get Asthma as a kid and 'grew out of it'. I turned 40 and it came back with a vengeance. After many tests etc, I'm now on symbicort - 2 puffs, twice a day, and this keeps it well under control.

When people used to say that life begins at 40, I wasn't expecting this :)

It seems a strange year for asthma to return to people, it happened to me at my 40th birthday party at a golf club 35 miles from home. So I had to be driven home by a friend in my car and I missed the party. But the main thing is keeping it under control by taking your medication every day whether you feel you need it or not. Well, I hope you can keep things controlled and live a normal life in the future.

Its good to hear that medication you are on is helping you control your asthma symptoms to quiet an extend. Hope you have a healthy and asthma free life ahead.
