Yeah, they'll discuss your exact symptoms, exact presentation, medical hisotry, diagnosis, they'll be asking questions to see if it really is asthma or if its something else. They'll book a load of tests and very occasionally will do a really simplew change (often your preventor inhalers can be shuffled around on the first appt) and then you'll see them again once they have all the tests to make a plan!
Many thanks Soph for your reply, v helpful! Take care
Hi
I had first consultant appointment in august.
We went through medical history, asthma history, possible triggers, medications and management plans I'd already tried, type of inhaler, spacer, listened to my chest, had a chest x ray and ECG, did formal spirometry, had lots of blood tests and he wrote me a new management plan which includes emergency antibiotics and steroids at home.
Good luck!
