I get really angry really easily like I could wake up angry or just get really annoyed with someone really easily. I don't know why but it just happens, I'm in hospital a lot with my asthma but does not affect my school work or my friendships. I was wondering if it could be to do with the medications they give me in the hospital or the medications I'm on...... But I don't know and it's starting to get really irritating... Help please!!!

Anger
Are you female? Could it be your hormones?
Anger can sometimes be a side effect of systemic corticosteroids (prednisone, prednisolone), also known colloquially as ""pred rage"" or ""roid rage"" - perhaps it would be a good idea tio discuss the anger with your GP, asthma nurse, or asthma consultant?
Is it anger your feeling or is it the frustration that comes from your asthma not being in control.
I get really annoyed with the asthma trying to control my life and that frustration can come out as anger, weepiness or being snappy.
Steroids and hormones are not a good combination and if you are not feeling well on top, that doesn't help!
I get weepy, snappy.... etc
If it is a real problem please speak to your GP about it.. they can help..x
I stumbled upon thesebstatistics:
On Mar, 27, 2014: 53,891 people who have asthma are studied. Among them, 309 (0.57%) have Anger. They amount to 0.32% of all the 96,303 people who have Anger.
When i was younger i was quite irritable and aggressive, my parents stopped me eating sugary sweets and drinks and I calmed down a bit, I did notice though i have became more chilled out with age as well. And if your female could be hormones as someone else pointed out.
You are not alone. I get very angery, frustrated, fidgetyy, restless when on 40mg prednisolone mixed with HRT. Try using the energy on a violent computer game such as skylanders or call of duty. It is a seated activity but good for excess tension and energy. You can talk to GP and ask for counselling but you cannot get tablets as they clash. You could also try relaxing music or your favourite dvd. Be kind to yourself your body is under stress after all trying to breathe. Tips from my GP for me personally.

Tell your GP about your anger problem and also ask for a blood pressure check. Suppression of anger can lead to cardiovascular problems so you need to get it under control yourself as best you can.
It is not uncommon for young people to display or feel anger and there are thousands with the problem who do not suffer with asthma or take any form of medication.
There is another test that your GP might arrange and it is related to the Ph of your blood. Stay calm and be careful not to lash out and get into trouble with the police.
