My son is 5 years old and he is currently suffering from a cold. His skin is going mottled but only when he is having a coughing fit, then is returning to normal. This never normally happens. Anyone else's child's skin go mottled when they cough ? His usual meds are seretide 125, montelukast he's also having extra ventolin due to the cold.
Hi, this is how my daughter, maddie goes. I will try to find the link to the posts I've written about it.
Have you got a finger sats machine?? It would be interesting to see what his sats are with regards to his colour change.
If you are worried I would see your GP or call his consultant. In the meantime take a photo of the colour change so you can show them at an appointment.
Let us know how you get on. I'd be interested to find out as I am in the same process with Maddie, trying to get to the bottom of why her colour keeps dipping when she's poorly.
Xx
Thanks for your reply, I spoke to his respiratory nurse at the hospital as she is easier to get hold of than the consultant. We are seeing the consultant in a week. She thought it might have been his oxygen levels dipping but it hasn't happened again since. He still has the cold making him very wheezy, going to see the go and see gp as 2 puffs of sere tide 125 day and night and lots of ventolin don't seem to be calming it enough. He seemed better for a few days but seems to be going backwards again. Think he might need some steroids to knock it on the head x
