Is peak flow the only indicator of asthma severity?
Wife is in hospital at the moment. Apparently, peak flow is OK but she's been ill for several months now. Consultant is completely useless and says its virus or recovery from asthma attack....
Hospital already done chest x-ray and just done CT to rule out PE.
As per my other reply in other forum - shes got haemophilus influeza which has been discovered via sputum sample.
Been given amoxycilin for 7 days. Even though she had this a month ago for 7 days and didnt work. Got recommendations from private GP to give another sputum sample if this doesnt work and try a different anti-biotic.
Since, as mentioned peak flow, is OK, wondering whether its not the asthma and just this that is causing the problem and exacerbating the symptoms of asthma.
