i had same thing happen to me about three weeks ago hope you feeling better

oh dear sorry to hear youre feeling so rubbosh at the moment. those figures to me seem quite alarming. youre only the teeniest fraction above 50% of personal best. usuallly at 50% most people are told they should seek help i.e. AandE.

do you have an action plan?

i do jope things improve for you soon but above all stay safe. netter safe than sorry especially with an illmess lile asthma!

let us know how you get on

thanks Hannahrose..think its a bad cold...cough is annoying..ive increased my reliever..salbutomal easy haler..our local hospital is only 10mins away by car..if i get worse or if the peak flow hits 200 ill have my hubby driver me to casualty

okay well i hope all goes as well as possible. hoping for a speedy recovery for you ;-)

Take care. 200 is getting closer to 45% than 50%. Yesterday at just over 50% my fingernails went a bit blue so went for imediate help.

Just to add, I hope you've started emergency pred or seeing OOH or GP asap for some. x

had to go to casualty just after lunchtime..doc gave me a neb and steroids..peak flow was 325 when i was let go...been coughing since i got back and now peak flow i back around the 220 mark..was also advised to take 6 puffs of my reliever every 6hrs..if my peak flow gets any lower i really dont want to bother casualty staff again but ive taken my reliever as advised and doc did say if i had to go back to do so...does anyone else feel guilty having to revisit casualty after being treated?

No! if you need to visit casualty then that is what you must do! thats why thers there as asthma can be a life threatening condition so dont dilly dally about it!

i do hope you get the help you need and that things improve for you soon.

I feel guilty having to see the gp but we have to think of ourselves, we won't get better if we don't recieve the meds we need. Hope you're feeling better soon xxx

I also feel guilty, even though my doctor specifically wants me to call in for advice. I always feel like I'm taking more than my fair share of my doctor's time. (my issue, not his).

Along with others - if this is out of your normal day to day variation, then its completely appropriate to seek help, even if you just went yesterday. There are certain things that we just aren't meant to handle on our own. Sometimes it is really important to have a second pair of eyes make decisions, even if that decision is really nothing more than having you sit around essentially for observation.

< 50% personal best is a by the numbers reason to go seek help, so I'd find it hard to believe that anyone at A&E would think you are wasting their time by coming in.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
