Asthma.???

Have had breathlessness for 2.5 weeks was on penicillin for 5 days (chest is clear) pred for 10 days still unable to breathe properly especially at night or doing general housework etc or out with my children! Docs say could be a virus and will maybe do chest X-ray if no better in a week have never felt this bad no energy unable to sleep at night due to coughing and feeling as though I'm choking (-as chest is clear is there any point to cxr) am on brown green and blue inhalers and none of them feel like they are doing anything, any advice please as due to see asthma nurse again on Friday thanks

Hi Elaine-I am just the same situation-On pred for 7 days 3 days in on it.the cough is only in my throat but cannot sleep.My chest is clear too.On Qvar prev inhaler and ventolin but my lungs feel ok now and not tight but its this darned tickly throat cough.Get well soon love

Hi I'm new on here but a long time sufferer,

I had this for 3 months at the beginning of the year I had no chesty wheeze it was all in my throat had several chest X-rays all came back clear had nebulisers at out of hour doctor as became so distressed from all the coughing, had been on pred and antibiotics 3 times in 6 weeks developed the 'face mooning' from all the steroids which never really helped.

Went to hospital checked for a blood clot but all clear however was given an injection to prevent blood clots. Followed by a change of inhaler to sere tide 250 accuhaler and using ventolin via a spacer seemed to do the trick for me but I do understand everyone is different.
