Why do we call them this - i know they come dressed in green and stab you with injections from time to time but i really take my hat off to these guys and girls what would we do without them - here's to the Green Meanies!!

Lol! You arr so right!!! They are amazing (in my experience although I know some on here have had the odd negative experience) so I don't know why they are called the green meanies.
Maybe we should come up with a different name? 
As an asthmatic St John Ambulance/future paramedic I definitely resent the term green meanies =P
jolly green giants is a popular name for us but my 5 foot-and-a-bit frame sort of contradicts that term =P
See, now whenever I have to csll out an ambulance I'm going to have ' ho ho ho, green giant' running through my head! Lol x

the most recent paramedic that picked me up said he loved the ""green meanies"" name and said he would rather be called that than some of the things he has been called lol ... and on leaving he said ""hope to see you as part of the ""meanie Greenie"" crew soon (because I want to be a paramedic lol)
