Lung function test

Hi everyone :)

I am new to asthma and i am having a lung function test next month, does anyone know what i should expect?

Hi Julia and welcome!

Have to say I dislike these tests but then I am pretty bad at doing them; think others don't find them so bad.

It basically involves a lot of blowing into tubes while a nurse, tech or physiologist screams 'blow blow blow....harder harder...keep blowing' as though you were a horse they had a lot of money on. Depending on where the tests are being done they may involve more or less elaborate tests, but as you're new to asthma I would guess they will be fairly basic and not involve a lot of the more unusual ones - will be mainly the spirometry.
