Xolair?

My consultant is thinking of trialling me on Xolair, I have brittle asthma which results in frequent time off work and changes in meds, my Ige level is sky high so it's all allergic and he's considering trialling this?

Anyone have any experience of it???

Thanks in advance,

Jane.

sevral threads on this on boards so if you use search option you should find them. I have had 1st injection and got 2nd one booked and keeping everything crossed that it works for me.

I'm on Xolair, coming up for my 4 month review. I think (though you can never be sure as something else could be making the difference) it's working for me. I've had no hospital admissions, only one near admission/major blip and I'm almost hayfever free when in previous years I've had to stay in or suffer badly. I've also managed to get my Pred down, I was on 40mg daily, I'm now on 10mg and doing well. I'll find out in a few weeks if they're going to keep me on it and if they think it's working.

Just started taking Xolair myself this Monday (two injections) as part of a sixteen week trial. For the first two visitis they keep you waiting around for two more hours in case of any bad reactions but the leaflet you got should tell you what these reactions are. The worst effects I had were swelling son both arms where I had the injections but haven't had any bad effects.

BTW I was the first at Manchester Royal Infirmary to have it.
