I am new to this site, my little boy seems to sweat when he start to have an asthma attack, he also seems to have them more and more recently which is concerning me, my nurse at our local GP does not seem to bother? as me and my husbad do not suffer from asthma this is new to us and want to make sure thier is nothing more to it?
I always sweat a *lot* when I'm having a bad attack, but then it's hard work trying to breathe at these times so it's not terribly surprising. I'd be more concerned about your son's asthma possibly not being under control than the fact that he sweats when he's working hard to breathe. This would be what I'd ask your GP/nurse about.
Hi
When I start to have an asthma attack I sweat terribly, in fact the last time I had a really bad attack, I was sat in with my GP and nurse and my told me that my clothes were all soaking wet through, but like Becky said, it's cos you are working hard to breathe so you will sweat...
I never used to sweat before I started on steroids, in fact used to be the oppsosite always cold, but I am on long term steroids and GP said I sweat all time cos of steroids......
If he is having them more and more often then you should really be seeing the GP or asthma nurse as his asthma may not be controlled, and if you are not happy with the GP ( as you said they don't seem to be bothered) then see if you can see another GP....
