Obviously I am no medical professional but I cannot see Singulair having that affect on you after one day

maybe its a coincidence and you have a tummy bug, seems like almost everyone has one just now

Hi Glynis,

sorry to hear about your probs with singulair, you might find it takes a few days to settle. But i don't know if you've been told it takes 4-6weeks to work, but more likely 6weeks. I was given this and had the same thing but it settled on its, give it a bit of time and if after say a week. Go back and see your gp or asthma nurse as side effects can be diarrhoea, abdo pain, headache. Also look in the instructions that comes with the medication box as they have quite lengthy info in there and they will give better advice. Or you could ring the helpline for further advice if your not sure. I hope you feel better soon and everything settles down soon.

take care

hi pampam,

you can react very quickly to a drug if you are allergic to it and don't know. This has happened to me several times and i had very severe reactions. So if you have new meds introduced just be aware.

Wouldnt a dodgy tummy just be an intolerance?

I was always under the impression an allergy was a different reaction than a dodgy tummy. I've reacted very badly to some meds but has always taken 2 or 3 doses until it does it

Hi pampam,

yes thats prob intolerance (a delayed reaction) if it's v soon after taking med or food and you get immediate reaction ie swelling, vomiting etc. that allergic.Thats how i read it, saw in a mag recently but can't remember which one, i will see if i can find it again. if you react It is confusing as people interuse the terms quite alot without realising the difference
