Has anyone else had an appointment to see if you can go back to work? I had an appointment for the 18th of november only to be told a few days later it had been cancelled and I dont have to have one. They have just put me straight back on the sick. I thought you had to go personally and then they decide?????

Many moons ago I had to attend a medical, but in your case I wouldn't be too concerned , they have obviously read your notes and made their decision with out your presence. It wouldn't harm to ring them just to double check. Also just because you have been signed off due to long term health problems doesn't mean that they can not call you back to check on your current health status. I haven't worked for many years now but on the odd occasion I do get a form to fill in just to keep them updated.

i had one last year that was a complete waste of time i turned uo with o2 cylinder and armed with all my hospital discharge sheets .. she noted all my meds ect and listened to my chest then she looked a little worried and asked me if i was feeling ok ... i said yes thats how my chest always sounds she was shocked,but anyway signed me off permanatly registerd sick and disabled. and also registerd me for severe disablement premium .. was annoyed that had to travel an hour to centre where it took place they should of just listened to my consultant and gp.
