partners smoking

My current girlfriend smokes quite heavly and I not sure whether it would affect my asthma. She doesnt smoke indoors but will smoke by me in the garden. I have said something but she just laughs it off. How can I get her to except my concerns?

ive bumped up a thread from before Christmas where someone else had an issue with partners smoking. Maybe she just doesnt realise that Asthma can be so serious, most people I meet are really shocked when we talk about it and a lot of people just arent aware. Just explain to her that it could affect your Asthma negatively and so affect your health, if she has respect for you, she will smoke away from you.

I've ""kind of"" been in the same boat but not quite, this is also on the other thread but bascially it wasnt smoking, but my boyfriend really likes going clubbing and i do too, but sometimes im just too tired to keep up, at first i think he saw it as a bit of an excuse to not go out with him but when we spoke about it properly and i explained how bad it could for me to have an attack anywhere, but of all places a nightclub where its dark, busy, usually very hot he realised it wasnt an excuse just something we hve to put up with best we can. I did once have on in a nightclub, think it would be fair to say they're not the ideal places to take an attack!
