When to re-new a old peak flow?

How often should you replace a old peak flow?

When i went to the doctors my peak flow was 490 on my new one it was 400. they obviously get loose as they get older.

hi Julie

pf meters providing they are regularly cleaned and kept in good condition can last years.

If though your meter at home or at the docs is pre 2004 then it will be to a different scale then newer ones as the EU scale was brought out then this link tells u about the changes peakflow.com/top_nav/home/i...

also you should be aware that your peakflow will change throughout the course of the day generally increasing until early evening when it'll start to drop again. this is one of the reasons why if you keep a diary you should try and do your peak flow at around the same times each day.
