partner has asthma

hi all

i'm new here, my girlfriend has asthma and I want to learn more about the condition, she know2s alot about it and I had it as a child, but it's cleared up for me. any advice will be very greatly received

sorry to hear about your gfs asthma but well done you for wanting to learn more about it.

there is a lot of good information provided here on the site, but try to explore other avenues like leaflets and books and good old Google!

you've just been a bit general, but if you have any specific questions then that would probably prompt a lot more replies on the board.

Hi Danny, in the general debate elsewhere on this board I forgot to reply. First of all good on you for bothering to find out. Up at the top you will find an all about asthma button (next to Home) have a look through there there is some really useful stuff there. But if you need more advice or are not clear on something please come back and tell us. Watching someone having an attack is very scary so knowing what to do should help. My son's GF is the one who does not have ashtma and he does, she nags at him to take his medication because he always forgetting to take his preventer! How often does she have attacks and what does she take to prevent them?

thanks Bex, I will have a look around the site and the web to see what I can find out. my girlfriend takes more medication than a chemist's and I want to know what I can do to help. I hope that your son is doing ok and that things can improve for him.

also thanks for the reply Chickstar, I know that you are sorry that my girlfriend has asthma. After all I know that she also uses this site, what's her username again.... oh yeah it's 'Chickstar'
