QMC Nottingham

Hi,

I'm moving back to England next month and have worked out that I'll be under QMC as my local A&E. I'm also very reluctant to go back to Glenfield so I think I'll be with them and then going to Heartlands all being well, but we shall see. But anyways, what do people think of QMC as an A&E etc?

Hi

I live in Mansfield so go to Kings Mill A&E normally who are alright- but only because they know me now.

I've been to QMC A&E once with an asthma attack- sorry but my experience was not good- maybe because they didn't know me but they didn't listern and I ended up on ITU! I found too many junior doctors not knowing what to do during a severe attack- they couldnt cannulate me- couldnt get an ABG- didn't know the doses for any meds (magnesium, salbutamol, hydrocortisone) all this wasted time. They wanted back to back nebs to see if that would work- despite my mum telling them I'd been doing that for the past hour and it never worked.

Perhaps if you become a regular (lets hope you don't) they may be ok.

All the best
