Someone must of tried something???

Just had rview of my prog at gym and instructer has recommended I

1. up fluid intake pref water

2 Try a supplement called MSM - Methyl Sulfonyl Methone

3 mulivitimins

4 Udo's oil ( as I don't eat oily fish and its supposed to help).

Not tried any yet but may give top 2 a go.

I find water helps! I drink at least 2 leaters a day but generally need more.

Hi,

I drink lots of still volvic mineral water, -should have shares in the company. It really seems to help the dry feeling I always have in my lungs. Does anyone else get this problem?

I've tried Chinese medicine. Had a 'tea' specially presrcribed, when last in China. Unfortunately have not noticed any benefits, and it doesn't taste very nice either.

I've also taken RDA of cod liver oil/omega 3 supps. for the last six months They have helped my atopic eczema, but not asthma. But I suppose I must have very well oiled joints by now!

Am visiting Homeopathic Hosp in Sept

I have an appointment at the Royal Homeopathic Hospital in London, in Sept, and will let you know how I get on.

The idea is not necessary treat the asthma but to help my body deal with the meds. I suffer from lots of side effects, especially from Pred.

Glad to hear someone else is going to try stuff. I am going to see a friend of mine who is in her last year of trainning! She wants to use me as one of her case studys. I will give it a go! if it dont work at least I would of tried.

Good luck!

before my asthma got to the stage that it's at now i used to find a few essential oils helpful particularly with having a bath. i tink the main ones i used were lavender, bergamot, cypress, rosemary, frankinsence and peppermint. if nothing else they were relaxing but for a while i found i could cope much better with the effort of getting dry after a bath. i can only use a few of them now and they don't have the anti asthmatic effect they used to but they're still relaxing. i use some to make my ownbath bombs.

I find a homeopathic remedy consisting of a 0% aqueous solution of every known homeopathic ingredient to be beneficial. This can be obtained by drinking a glass of water, and saves the cost of any homeopathic consultation or homeopathic ""medicines"".

rbringwood have you actually tried any though????

My neighbour was very sceptical about homeophoty and her daughter got her an appointment anyway for her allegic rhinitus. She has found a massive diffrence even through her negative thoughts!

LOL Richard

richard, i have to say that i'm now inclined to agree with you. i still use what essential oils i can but only because they smell nice and are relaxing. i don't think they actually do anything for my lungs any more ... and if they once did maybe it was psychological anyway.

I too am sceptical about alternative medication. But I knoe for me if I am near lavinder it makes me drowsy and lavinder makes me go to sleep better then any sleeping tablet. Also my neice had very bad constipation and appart from very strong drugs the only thing that worked was homeopathic remidies and for the long term not the short term like the drugs she was given. You cant call that mind control.

Richard... thank you for making me laugh!
